Book in a Box Mini Album

Hi Ya'll,

Back again today with another mini album I made recently using a tutorial I found on youtube.  I just love youtube such a great place to find just about anything and if you love making mini albums as much as I do, you can find endless tutorials on them.  Today I want to share an album I made using the tutorial here Book in a Box Tutorial it was a very easy tutorial but the results are just soooo cute.

Every other page opens up like this for a large amount of journaling or photos.

Each of the 6 pages have a pull out that can hold either 4 photos or journaling.

Make sure to follow Sharina Shack on youtube if you like this album as I am sure she has plenty more tutorials on her channel.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and please share with me if you decide to make one, I would love to see it.

Happy Craftin' Ya'll

Vertical Paper Bag Mini album and Tutorials

There are so many talented ladies and gents out there, making all sorts of beautiful projects.  One of my all time favorite scrappers is a lady named Ginger who goes by the trade name "My Sisters Scrapper"  online and on youtube.

I followed her tutorial recently and made this cute Vertical Paper Bag Mini and I was very happy with her instruction and wanted to share my work and her tutorials with you today.

Here is my album and below you will find the link to her tutorials.

I  still need to add some tags and embellishments but for the most part it is finished. I have made several of her albums and am always happy with the results.  She is an excellent teacher and very easy to follow.

Creating SVG Files

I am new to the creating part of SVG files.  I am trying to learn all I can about it.  I am using a program called Primo PDF.  So far it seems to be a free program and so very easy to use.  If you want to try it, here is a link to the one I downloaded.  Primo PDF Converter

There is a program called Inkscape that seems to be the FREE go to program for a lot of people who are creating the SVG files.  I will include a link to that program here.  Inkscape

What I have learned so far is, in order to make an SVG file (Scalable Vector Graphic)  You have to have a file that you can import into Inkscape.  I have found that using PDF files works pretty well. Now I am no expert at this and there may very well be  a much easier way to do this but this is what I am doing at the present time.  I find or make a file I want and then I create a PDF file out of it, then I import that PDF file into Inkscape and save as an SVG file.  So far it is working for me but I am looking into more ways of doing it and if anyone has a better way of doing it, I would welcome any and all advise and comments.

I think there may be a way to import a Jpg into Inkscape but not real sure at this time.

I welcome you to come back often because as I learn I will share.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope I have helped in some small way.

Subway Art - Police Officer and Wedding

Lately I have found myself very interested in Subway Art.  I decided to give it a try.  I made a file for my Son who just recently graduated from the Police Academy.  I framed it in an 8.5 x 11 certificate frame and I am quite pleased with the way it turned out.

It is hard to find anything to acknowledge the great job our police officers do and I am super excited about my creation.  This can simply be printed and framed at any size or cut on your electronic cutting machine.  If you would like one of your own custom SVG files, or any other cutting file type visit my Etsy store and send me a message.  I am always happy to do custom orders. :)

I figured while I was at it I might as well show another popular needed file, so here we have one for Weddings.  I just love making the art and plan to do many more.  You will also find this in my Etsy store. :)

Spinner Card

I watched many Stampin' Up youtube videos and searched the web for 2 days and finally realized how to create one myself.  This is not my original idea.  It is everywhere online, just type in Spinner Card and you will find many pictures, but very few if any, free files for it.  (Stampin' Up has the bundle to make this fun card)

First of all I just cut a regular A2 card.   I took an 8.5 x 11 sheet of whisper white (Stampin' Up) cardstock and cut it in half to make two cards.   I then had a folded card that measured 5.5 x 4.25.  I then cut the mat piece at 5.25 x 4.  At this time I cut the spinners out as well.  I used the spinners in the Pazzles Craft Room but any spinner will work and I have another here that I have shared, in case you are not a member of the craft room.  I attached the mat with my ATG gun.  I then put a piece of cardstock into my printer and typed the sentiment I wanted, set it up with no margins, and tabbed it over twice and then hit the space bar 2 times to get it over to the opposite side of the card where I needed it to be when cut.  I placed the cardstock on the pazzles mat and made sure to line it up exactly at the top of the mat over to the left hand side.  I eyed it all in and cut, it turned out perfect.  It would have been easier maybe had I had a good collection of stamps, or even used the pen tool for my Pazzles but I wanted to try it this way.  I also cut the groove out for the spinner at this time.

I did get out the stamps I have and used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set (Stampin' Up) with the Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana Inks (Stampin' Up) to make the splashy look on both cards.

I then used a 2 penny sandwich, which I made out of a penny, a dimensional and another penny all stacked on top of each other.

I stuck a couple mini glue dots (Stampin' Up) on one side of the sandwich and then kind of stuck it behind the topper with the groove and then placed the spinner on top of the groove and connected them together with the grooved topper between the two.  I then put several demensionals on the back of the grooved topper, so that the spinner would have room to move and then stuck the topper onto the card.  WALLA a darling little spinner card!  Tip: Shake the card sideways several times until it gets set in there the way you want it and it spins good.

You could use any sentiment you can think of but I liked the "You Blow Me Away".  Stampin' Up has a stamp set made for the spinner card.  It includes that sentiment.  I came up with the Spinning By To Say Hi, but when I do it again I will drop the G and have Spinnin' By To Say Hi, I just think it looks more fun :)

I hope you enjoy and understand the instructions and if you have any questions please feel free to ask in the comment section and I will check back often.

Frugal Tip

Hello friends.

My what a beautiful couple of days we have had here in Ohio.   Just so sunny and bright and so much fun to be outside.  I personally can't handle the sun anymore but I remember when I could and I know the kids have been having a great time.

I decided to do a little catching up on supplies I may be low on or out of.

As I was putting my new tape roll on the ATG gun I of course had to take the old stuff off.  I always get stuck just pulling it off until I end up with large bunch of paper backing.

I thought to myself that this would make a great bunch of decorative filler.  I then decided to try it out, I stuck it in a very pretty box, cut it up a little and WALLA!  I have a great little gift, so very cute.  I will be saving mine from now on and will use it when I can match it with a project and the best part is that it is shiny, makes it that much more decorative.

I hope you all enjoy this tip and maybe find a way to use it yourself.  I think some of the other brands come in different colors, like maybe white.  This is such a frugal tip and I am so glad I thought of it as I am not the most frugal crafter.

Happy Crafting to all :)

Power Scrappin'

Many moons ago I wrote an article that was published in the online magazine called scrapbooking.com.  I had misplaced the link and forgotten all about it until another lady posted something she had published, so I did a search in the archives and finally found it.  It was published in 2007 but still a great tip :)

Hope you enjoy....

Dress Series

Hi all, so happy to have you visit my blog, as you can see I am just getting started.  I am going to try to have something new at least once a week and will probably announce it through facebook, as it seems these days the whole world is on facebook :)

For those who followed me here today via a picture on facebook this is what the picture is...

Today I want to share with you an album I made many months ago.  I used K&Company paper and Chipboard, my trusty ol' electronic cutter; Pazzles and Aileen's tacky glue (it just can't be beat) I've decided this will be one in a series of Dress Albums I am going to make.  The name of this one is "Esther" named after my beautiful and wonderful Mother.

This is the first page of the album and I really hate the lighting it
just doesn't do the album justice, but it is the best I have right now so here she be :)

Each page is a different Dress and each page has a pocket in the pentafore for photos and
journaling.  All flowers were handmade to match each dress,  (what fun I have making flowers)

I hope you enjoy looking and if you have any questions please
feel free to comment and I will answer asap.
